The fundamental of CAD: Computer Aided Design. Before the time of computer the desigs were done by the engineers and a fleet of drafters would make all of the 2D drawings. Now we create parts using computer software and then use those 3D part renderings to create 2D drawings. The backbone fundamentals of engineering drawings is still based on the drafting techniques. The objective remains: Present a clear way to express/communicate an object efficiently
